Why assess first

Most programmes are built on guesswork. You get the same squats, stretches and "core work" as everyone else, whether or not your body needs them.

An assessment shows what each joint can actually do, where you're compensating in your swing, and what's holding you back, whether that's distance, consistency, or a back that aches after 18 holes. Your programme then targets those gaps directly, so every session earns its place.

The Golf Performance Assessment

Two systems, one assessment.

TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) is the physical screen used on tour, applied to your body and your game. You won't be trained like a tour pro; you'll be trained for the golf you actually play. It shows how your body is shaping your swing: where you lose posture, why you sway or early extend, and which movements your body can't yet make.

FRA (Functional Range Assessment) measures the range and control of each major joint. It tells us why a TPI test was limited, so we can tell the difference between a hip that won't rotate and one that rotates but can't control the position.

Together they give you a clear picture of what to train, and in what order.

How it works

  1. Assessment (75 to 90 minutes). We talk through your goals, history and training background, then work through the testing. In person at Les Mills Auckland City, or online via video call.
    1. Your results. You receive a written summary of what I found: where you're strong, where you're restricted, and what that means for you.
      1. Your programme. A 12-week strength and mobility programme built from your results and delivered through my training app, with video demos for every exercise.

        1. Keep progressing. After 12 weeks, book a follow-up session. We retest, you see what's changed, and you get your next 12-week programme.

        2. Why work with me

      2. I've been a personal trainer for almost a decade, and strength training is the foundation of everything I do. Mobility work only sticks when you have the strength to use it.

    2. FAQs

  2. Do I need to be fit already?
  3. No. The assessment tells us where you're starting from, and the programme is built for that. I'm not a golfer. Is this for me? This assessment is built specifically for golfers. If you're not a golfer, have a look at personal training and programming instead.

Can I do it online? Yes. Online assessments use the same testing, coached over video. You'll need a phone or laptop camera and some floor space.

What if I have an injury? Tell me when you book. If something needs medical attention first, I'll refer you on, and I'm happy to work alongside your physio.

What happens after 12 weeks? Book a follow-up session: we retest, and you get your next 12-week programme. Or stop there, with everything you need to keep training on your own.
